The sewing schools, hence, do have a role. Of course, they are not really sewing schools, neither do they teach only stitching, as in the past. They are fashion houses and they prepare the youngsters for a career in fashion designing. This occupation is okay – I have no problem with that. One should ensure that regular classes do not suffer. One should go and find out the details of the sewing schools. Most of the sewing schools will have one year courses at the end of which they would offer placement.

The Disadvantages of the School

The greatest disadvantage is that there are not too many takers for fashion designers. They should rather set up their own business. For this purpose, again, a great deal of assistance is required so that a good small scale industry can be set up. There are a lot of people who would like this, and become freelance fashion designers.

Initially they work on small projects in India and abroad, and get sufficient money to stabilize. Once they become stabilized, it would be easy to market them and their products. Many find their own niche by and by, and then they separate themselves into special fashion designers, and simple fashion designers.

Hence, sewing schools are needed; so are the advertisements through which these schools can be announced to all the students.
